29 Mar 2020I love your art and blog but was disappointed to see the politicizing. Most people look forward to enjoying something where we do not have to deal with politics. Why add it to what you have that makes people feel good?

29 Mar 2020Thank you for the polite tone of your comment. I think on the substance of the political issues we will have to agree to disagree. It is perhaps no coincidence that the folks who disagree with my views think I shouldn’t comment on politics in my personal blog. As a citizen and artist in these fraught and dangerous times, of course I do have every right to an opinion, and perhaps even a duty to express it.
That said, I do agree that as an artist my work is essentially not political, and mostly about beauty and aesthetics. I don’t intend to engage deeply in politics, and plan to keep my content to largely about my art. But I do feel strongly about the political issues of our times, and obviously the way things have been managed have a big personal impact on me and my family.
